Prash is the former General Counsel for Channel 4 Television. He began his career in London, working in private practice, before being recruited by Channel 4 where he spent 23 years. He was appointed Channel 4’s first General Counsel and led the Legal & Compliance, Governance, Regulatory & Trading teams.
Prash played a key role in creative risk-taking at Channel 4 and is much sought after as the ‘go-to’ lawyer to get challenging and innovative content to air. He has advised across many ground-breaking programmes, films and digital content including Brass Eye, Da Ali G Show, Beneath the Veil, Death of a President, Star Stories, Chosen, Hunger, The Inbetweeners, Four Lions, One Mile Away, My Son the Jihadi and The State.
In 2017, Prash was named UK In-House Lawyer of the Year after being recognised by the judges as ‘one of the most influential leaders within Channel 4, widely respected for his collaborative and creative thinking‘ (The Lawyer Awards, 2017).
Prash also spent six years on the board of ActionAid UK, the international development NGO that works with the poorest women and girls in the world. He also acts as General Counsel to the Doc Society a non profit committed to enabling great documentary films and connecting them to audiences globally.
Prash is based in Sydney and works between London and Sydney advising TV, film, digital and NGO clients across the globe.
