Prash Naik

Prash is the former General Counsel for Channel 4 Television in the UK. He began his career in London working in private practice before being recruited by Channel 4 where he spent 23 years.

At Channel 4 he played a key role in creative risk-taking and is now much sought after by producers as the ‘go-to’ lawyer to defend and get challenging content to air. He has advised across many ground-breaking programmes, films and digital content including Cambridge Analytica UncoveredThe KleptocratsLeaving Neverland  and The Great Hack.

He is also highly respected as an expert crisis management advisor. He has advised at executive and board level on many high-profile cases involving editorial ethics, press controversies and kidnap & ransom.

In 2017 he was named UK In-House Lawyer of the Year after being recognised by the judges as ‘one of the most influential leaders within Channel 4, widely respected for his collaborative and creative thinking’ (The Lawyer Awards 2017 ).

Prash also acts as General Counsel to the Doc Society a non-profit foundation based in London and New York supporting independent documentary filmmakers globally.

Prash is now based in Sydney and works between London and Sydney advising TV, film and digital clients internationally. He is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and Australia.
