Susanna Speirs

Susanna joined Reviewed & Cleared in 2019 and provides practical and commercial title clearance advice to media clients.

Susanna has a background in high-level litigation having qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields in 2006, before moving to Field Fisher on qualification, working on intellectual property litigation with a focus on passing off, copyright and trade mark infringement and domain name disputes. Whilst at the firm, she went on secondment to the NatMags legal team (now Hearst UK) and advised on pre-publication matters for 20 weekly and monthly magazines.

Susanna later made the move in-house, working at Arsenal Football Club as one of only two lawyers. This hugely varied role provided a unique opportunity to work with the Premier League, UEFA and various high-profile footballers. She eventually left for a General Counsel role at Unilever. Susanna remains an Arsenal season ticket holder but now works much closer to home!

Susanna continues to focus on intellectual property law but also has significant experience in media, advertising (working frequently with the ASA and advising on the CAP and BCAP Codes), commercial, contract and charity law. Susanna has a very practical, risk-based approach to legal issues and is at home working with clients to resolve their legal issues on tight timescales.
