Alex Cort
Alex joined Reviewed and Cleared in January 2024 to work alongside Duane Dedman and Ralph Engelhard to expand R&C’s Compliance practice.
Alex brings more than 30 years’ experience, stemming from both the UK and Scandinavia. He offers expert regulatory advice for both acquired and commissioned content through every stage of production.
After working in the early 90s in Stockholm for the Filmnet network as a Transmission Controller, Alex moved to Canal Plus to work as an editor, and went on to work for several independent production companies. Upon returning to the UK in 2006 Alex worked as a compliance advisor on acquired content at ITV, before moving to commissioned content on breakfast magazine shows including Good Morning Britain and Lorraine as well as game shows, reality programmes, various entertainment genres and unscripted programmes and documentaries. In 2019 Alex moved to Sky TV where he worked on acquired and sporting content on Sky’s extensive portfolio of channels.
As a child Alex was often present on film sets at studios such as Elstree and Bray, thanks to his father’s work in the film industry. Witnessing the filming of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and several Hammer House productions cemented his passion for the film and television world.
Alex loves the cinema as much as ever, while his contemporary interests range from running a street food kitchen specialising in Scandinavian food around London, enjoying what he calls “the delights of early morning Saturday park runs”, and following the fortune of two football teams of differing levels in the football pyramid: Tottenham Hotspur and Dulwich Hamlet.
