Felicity Price
Felicity is an experienced media content lawyer who works across television, film, print and audio.
Felicity is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and Australia (non-practising) and has practised in both jurisdictions. Having qualified with and worked for Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst Australia) in Sydney, Felicity relocated to the UK in 2002 to read for the Master of Law at St. John’s College, Cambridge (as a Chevening Scholar) where she wrote on the emerging law of privacy in the UK. After Cambridge, Felicity worked at London claimant media litigation firms Schillings and then Carter Ruck, where she obtained her English qualification.
Felicity worked full time as a Fleet Street lawyer for over a decade providing advice on pre-publication issues to major news outlets, including News UK, DMG Media, Telegraph Media Group and Independent Print Media, and working with their in-house teams on legal and regulatory complaints (including litigation). Felicity understands journalists and likes working with them and has a particular interest in public interest reporting. She continues to work in a newsroom, advising journalists and editors at the BBC, and is a regular on R&C’s Legal My Page service.
Felicity advises a range of independent production companies on legal and compliance issues, as well as major broadcasters and streaming platforms. Her work includes a wide range of programming – fictional and factual drama series, documentaries, true crime, emergency services, consumer programming, stand-up comedy, entertainment (scripted and non-scripted) and live television.
Felicity also has an honours degree in English literature and provides advise to major book publishers and podcast makers across all genres.
